At the Milken Institute’s 2018 Global Conference, Tidjane Thiam, CEO of Credit Suisse, discussed the relationship between economic growth and human development on a panel entitled, "Promoting Prosperity in a World of Transition." The panel focused on how nations, institutions, and politicians can best incentivize change and leverage power; and the role private investment should have in creating new markets and sectors. During the panel, Tidjane and fellow panelist Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank, announced the official launch of the Disruptive Technologies for Development Fund, a joint partnership created to harness technologies such as blockchain, 3D printing, and the Internet of Things to pioneer innovative solutions for development challenges.
